School Ethos and Values
Cannon Lane First School is a learning centred school where we actively encourage all to learn, reflect and question. We know for the children to learn, they must feel safe, confident and happy. Therefore our school is a calm and safe place to be in with structure. We have high expectations of ourselves and each other.
Cannon Lane First School is situated on the Harrow and Hillingdon borders and opened in 1934. It shares the site with Cannon Lane Junior School. Both schools have their own separate playgrounds and share the playing fields.
There are nine classrooms situated in the main building along with the School Offices, Hall, Library, Cookery Room, Meeting Room and Staff Room. There are also two classrooms situated in the mobiles; these are located near the main building.
Cannon Lane First School is a 3 Form Entry School. There are 3 Year Groups - Reception, Year One and Year Two. We have taken on a Reception Bulge Class for 2012/2013. This extra class will go through the school. Each Year Group is arranged in three mixed ability classes. Age groups are not mixed at Cannon Lane First School. Within the class, children are taught individually, in groups, or as a whole.
At Cannon Lane First School we are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. We believe every pupil should be able to participate in all school activities in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from harm.
